Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt

August 25, 2015

Egypt is a truly beautiful country with lots to see and do. Typically people visit the pyramids but I spent my time scuba giving in the Red Sea. I have never seen a sea before which was as clear as the Red sea, it resembled glass and contained an array of sea creatures. Metaphorically, it was like swimming in a fish tank.

Situated on the edge of the desert and surrounded by rugged, bare mountains, Sharm el Sheikh takes its name from the old town. The more modern hotel area backs on to Naama Bay Beach, which is the main draw for many people choosing package holidays in Sharm el Sheikh. With beautiful warm waters, the clarity makes it an international scuba diving hotspot. Don't worry if you can't swim, I can't, the salt in the water will keep you afloat (but remember to wash after you leave the water as the salt on your skin will cook you alive). The guaranteed sourcing sun is conditioned by the refreshing ocean breeze and the pure air. Travelling in winter often means you can get great package holiday deals but can still experience the best of the sun and warm weather.
