Pink is conspicuously referenced as the most feminine colour. In terms of wearing pink, I feel it is a difficult colour to wear as it isn't a neutral colour and can look ridiculous if worn wrong.
It's not what you wear it's how you wear it
Pink looks great and can be a fun colour to wear, but it can be challenging to effectively coordinate it with other colours.
Pink is not just referenced to symbolise femisinism, but also bullying, discrimination, homophobia, transphobia, and transmisogyny. So you can use this colour to make a fashion and political statement.
There are two ways to go if you're going to wear pink.
If wearing pink, wear it as either a feature colour or an accent colour
Choosing a pink statement piece, meaning this is the foundation of the outfit and you build the outfit around this piece of clothing .
Halloween is the only time of year where I can be who I am and people won't think I'm weird...
I didn't use a traditional costume because I'm not a traditional kind of girl. I definitely like to have fun with my costume choices, I don't like to pick an 'off the rail' costume as I like to have fun with the Halloween premise. I jump at any opportunity to dress up and had to have more than one costume this year.
Three times the charm
This year I dressed up as...
a bad-ass dominatrix
an enchanted bunny
a heartbroken maid.
My Badass Dominatrix look
A dominatrix costume is not probably what people would typically imagine one to wear for Halloween, however, I'm not typical....
I thought I'd bring out my dominant and kinky side and experience the life (superficially of course) of a dominatrix
Naturally, an outfit like this isn't found in a typical cos...
Sadly, another year is over. 2017 has been eventful and has been full of fashion faux pas and trend reinvention.
T-shirts with random slogans on the front
Thinking out loud has a new meaning as now you can save your mouth the effort of speaking and express what you're thinkng with the words on your tee.
As a 90's baby, I feel compelled to embrace 90's fashion. Chokers is a style of necklace that was traditionally worn during the French Revolution. Women wore red ribbons around their necks to symbolise and support to those who met their death at the guillotine. At that same time, a plain, thin, red, or black ribbon choker was a symbol of prostitution in the late 19th century. Nowadays, chokers are used as a meaningless fashion accessory. I love chokers but as I have a small neck, I often need to tighten the non-elastic chokers like...
Halloween is my favourite time of year as I absolutely love any excuse to dress up.
This year I dressed up as a witch.
I didn't use a traditional costume because I'm not a traditional kind of girl. Instead I chose to wear a leather skater dress from Zara UK, a mesh bat top from ASOS and of course, a witch hat which I got from Accessorize.
As for my Makeup...
I kinda made it up as I went along. Personally, I think thats the best way to be with makeup so you can tailor your look to your face and personality.
I choose to use purple eyeshadows with metallic accents as I knew it would compliment my white/asian skin as well as go with my halloween theme.
I used Illamasqua's liquid metal to use as a highlighter but I blended it with eyeshadow and Bobbi Brown's shimmer palette. Loved the colour combination on this look.
The weather in the UK can be unpredictable at best. The UK is probably the only place in the world where you can experience all four seasons in one day. This practical way of dressing is essential for every fashionista to master the art of layering. Combining different garments in layers can be used to revitalise your wardrobe. Coordinate layers according to changes in temperature; and make use of clothing to produce different looks and mix colours in various ways. Therefore, we should all dress like onions!
Top tips for layering clothes
- When layering clothes, opt for a lightweight jacket.
- A white button-down shirt goes with almost any outfit.
- Use a belt to add shape to your silhouette as well as holding your outfit together.
- Make your outfit spicy with a splash of colour. This could be wit...
The 90's are back with a vengeance with the street style bumbag. To be on trend this season, your outfit needs to be cemented with this street style piece. Gucci's revival of 1990's street-style has introduced this trend to the best dressed it-girl scene.
From humble beginnings, the bumbag or 'fanny pack' as it is also known as was first intended to be used instead of sewing pockets into clothing. It can be dressed up in a belted form or dressed down with a slouchy over-the-shoulder look. Not often a fashion trend is practical. However, these are really handy to use whilst you're out so you may keep all your valuables close at hand and secure.
This looks also work for male fashionistas...
These bumbags were once a laughable tourist commodity. Gucci has revived the bumbag and this trend is being embraced by the fashion scene...
Personally, I love wearing male clothing; its cosy, makes me look small and best of all, has real pockets. This oversized blazer gives the right balance of structure and tailoring in my outfits. Whereas, the nude dress shows off my female figure which the jacket alludes the eye to believe it is smaller than it really is.
Oversized clothing is generally comfortable and most of the male clothing I wear is to bed; I have a few oversized female pieces which I wear to enact that 'morning after' look.
I would suggest for example if you're wearing an oversized jumper then wearing it with a slim or straight leg trouser is going to help balance out the look.
Same goes if you're wearing a jacket or trousers with a looser fit, a t-shirt or camisole dress worn underneath that is more fitted is going to be the best pairin...
These dresses from Moschino's new collection are adorable. I feel like these were made for me as they personify everything I want in a dress. However, there price tags are anything but cute. At a hefty 4 figure sum, I think I'll make something similar myself or wait until the sales.
This dress by Chloe is the dress of my dreams. It looks heavenly with the way the fabric falls and the embroidery. This photo does not do it justice as it looked heavenly in the store. There is so much detail on this garment, from the embroidery to the choice of fabrics. This dress definitly took a long time to make and the labour is shown in the stitchwork. Definitely the dress of my dreams but alike the Moschino dresses, this dress has a not so dreamy pricetag.
I have owned this pink leather jacket from Coach for almost a year now an it has just been gathering dust in my wardrobe. This jacket so beautifully charming in its shape and tone of pink; I knew when I saw it I had to have it. The jacket isn't as comfortable as I'd wish, however it is warm and of good quality. This jacket was a bit pricey at £1500 RRP, but this is a beautiful jacket.
This jacket, alike other bold fashion pieces should be teamed with subdued colour to compliment it as the feature piece of the outfit. I chose to team it with dark colours to accent the jacket's tone to be more explicit. This jacket can also work with a white shirt and jeans.
The double denim look is timeless and alluring. This is definitely a unisex look for all seasons.
It's the trend that so wrong, but so right at the same time and I doubt it's going anywhere.
You can use denim shades to flatter or hide body parts. As a general rule, lighter shades of denim draw attention to the body parts they cover, while darker washes create a slimming effect.
For many women this means that dark denim jeans, and a lighter denim top or jacket is the most flattering way to go.
I added this adorable cartoon bag to articulate my personality in this outfit. I seriously do love this bag so much but I am not sure what brand it is. It was brought from TK Maxx in the childrens section (yes, I shop there for myself) for £8.
I absolutely love these shoes from Irregular Choice.
If you don't think shoes are important, just ask Dorothy and Cinderella...
This delightful high heel features cream floral printed fabric with white scalloped trim and tiny bronzed pearls lining the toe. The heel is wrapped with fine goldThe heel is elegant finish to this lovely style.
I thought I would spice these shoes up with these sparkly tights I got from ebay. It would have been a shame to let the sparkle finish at shoes...
Although beautiful, they're not my most comfortable pair of heels and I can seem them getting worn and damaged easily. So for these fair of shoes, I will only be wearing for a specific occaisons.
With this said, these are the perfect unique bridal shoes for your vintage or alternative style wedding.
