Phuket, often referred to as the "Pearl of the Andaman," is situated in the southern part of Thailand, connected to the mainland by the Sarasin Bridge. This island paradise covers an area of approximately 576 square kilometers and boasts a varied landscape that includes lush jungles, pristine beaches, and towering limestone cliffs.

I stayed at the beautiful Melia Phuket Mai Khao. The hotel offers exclusive access to the pristine Mai Khao Beach with shimmering turquoise waters and crystal sand.. Located north of Phuket, this luxurious retreat combines the serenity and natural beauty of Thailand with the sophistication of it's design and wellness facilities. With tastefully designed interiors, modern amenities, and a comfortable king-sized bed, the room provides a tranquil haven for relaxation. Overall, the Melia Phuket Mai Khao promises a delightful stay with its impeccable hospitality and stunning surroundings.

The room offers a comfortable and spacious king-sized bed, adorned with high-quality linens and fluffy pillows for a restful night's sleep. Its well-appointed en-suite bathroom boasts luxurious amenities, including the open plan bathroom that leads outside to the private patio. The room also features a seating area, a flat-screen TV, a mini-bar stocked with refreshments, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The best part about the room for me was the private pool and outdoor bathtub. Overall, the hotel room combines comfort and functionality, providing guests with a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Phuket is renowned for its stunning coastline, offering an array of beautiful beaches as well as being a gateway to numerous smaller islands and islets, such as Phi Phi, Phang Nga Bay, and James Bond Island. I went Island hopping during my time in Phuket and visited Phang Nga Bay, PhiPhi, Bamboo and Monkey Island. The surrounding waters are teeming with marine life and coral reefs, making it a diver's paradise. Popular dive sites include Shark Point, Similan Islands, and Phi Phi Islands. From jet-skiing to parasailing, windsurfing, and stand-up paddle-boarding, Phuket's beaches provide a playground for water sports enthusiasts. You can also explore the island's lush jungles and national parks, where you can hike, go zip-lining, and encounter unique wildlife. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to Old Town Phuket for 350THB (which is cheaper than most taxis) where you can visit attractions like Patpong beach, the Thai Hua Museum and Wat Chalong the largest Buddhist temple on the island.
